    Wiring harnesses/connectors

I had that thought, but I can't seem to find the pickup device. I'm usually pretty good about finding things online, but finding this stuff has not been easy. I got a line on a connector from a guy who works with my wife, but it would be nice to have a selection to look at.

    Wiring harnesses/connectors

I got a 351W truck motor to go into my 69 Coupe, and someone had clipped the distributor wire behind the connector, and TAPED the distributor to the rest of the ignition components. The motor is a 1985 out of a F-150, and had the Duraspark system. I can't seem to find aftermarket connectors to...

    Question on painting engine bay

I used Eastwoods Rust Encapsulator, which is a product similar (they claim better) than POR-15. Both claim you don't have to get every bit of rust off before using. I've also got a portable blaster, and would probably use it in the right conditions (You don't mind getting sand EVERYWHERE!)...

    Ghost Flames?

Some nice cars in there. Still not as subtl as that one Cobra, but hard to tell without being there too. I'll have to think some more on it. Saw a TV show last night featuring "True Flames" paint job. Basically a very talented painter who was capable of created very realistic flames. I...

    Ghost Flames?

Ah, I see. I may have to do some more thinking about it. Doesn't sound that hard to do after all. Still haven't decided on a body color yet and that might factor in. Some colors look better flamed than others. Still, the process of ghost flames is pretty hard to come by on the Internet...

    Ghost Flames?

Nice car, Blake, but that's really not the effect I saw on that Cobra. It was very subtle, but then the paint looked like it was about an inch deep! As far as painting it on my Mustang, I'm not sure yet if I will even try. Paint is expensive and I'll probably be doing it in a garage with...

    console mounted E-brake

Oh, yeah. I hate the floor mounted Ebrakes. I should try and rig up a console puller since the car will be stripped. Shouldn't be too hard to find one at a junkyard. Let us know if anyone finds a good replacement part.

    Ghost Flames?

Last Year at a car show I saw a CObra with an AWESOME paint job. Deep Blue with blue flames that would only appear when you at the right angle. The rest of the paint was flawless too. My Father-in-law called that a Ghost Flame effect, but didn't know exactly what how it was done. I was...

Help opinions needed....what to do first?

If'n it was me... I would do what interior work needs done to make the car safe to drive and prevent rust from eating the sheetmetal. That way I could drive it while I saved up enough money to get the bodywork done. I think you'll be fine taking the interior out to do the paint. It's not...

    Weight of 69 coupe?

I was not as excited at first to have gotten the Coupe, considering the SR is so popular, but I'm convinced that the Coupe can be a tough looking car and even more special for it's uncommoness.(Is that a word?). I Like the image I got from your description, Bnickel, and it is pretty close to...

    Weight of 69 coupe?

Thanks, I came up pretty close to that too and figured I'd try to build around a 2000 limit for safety, figuring that most products also have a safety factor. Add using safely to that and I think that should be pretty good. Dang! I re-read my original post and can't believe how many...

    Weight of 69 coupe?

I'm building a rotisserie for my 69 Mustang, and I need to know the weight of the car without any parts. I plan on taking EVERYTHING off, except sheet metal. I don't want to build in too light, but I can get some steel pretty cheap if it's suitable. If anyone happens to have weighed one...

    Parts Interchange

Jeez, must be nobody knows of a good interchange manual out there. I was kinda hoping to find at least something useful before I start buying parts for the Stang.

how can u tell u joints are bad???

The are very inexpensive. I can't quote actual dollars right now, but they are approx. what wheel bearings cost I believe. I'd guess less than $20 a set. Someone set me straight if I'm wrong.

Tips on starting for first time?

Oh, BTW - I'm building this 351 for my '69 Coupe. Le tme know how it goes for you. I'd like to see pics of the car when you can post them!

Tips on starting for first time?

I'm no expert here, but wouldn't it be a good idea to spray some kind of lube in the cylinders and turn them over by hand a few times to get the rings sliding before trying to start it? If there was any moisture in there, then there may be significant rust built up.... I just cracked open...

how can u tell u joints are bad???

This is a basic repair and most how-to books will have the instructions in them. I think it's a matter of marking the position of the joints so that you can put the driveshaft back in the same splines. Unbolt the joints and remove them. Drive out the old bearings using socket and vise...

    Parts Interchange

I've been looking to get a parts interchange manual to help me find useable parts for my '69 Coupe. So far I've found like one book which has taken a beating by the reviewers for it's inaccuracies and mistakes. I'd like to find something that is accurate. I'm fixing up the '69, but not...

Buyer Warning, Ripped off on eBay!

You guys are on the verge of doing something fun and illegal. Best to let the complaints run their course before doing something that could make things worse. Personally, I think it would be cool for a forum member or two to stop by the business and inquire into the status of that particular...
