Filling up gas is a pain

I like the second in-trunk filler option, however I don't have a workshop so I can't build anything easily. Why doesn't one of the mustang shops make something for us to use. Any other options anyone? I have a 67 coupe that I constantly have issues filling. I have had my car as a daily driver...

How to upgrade from cable to hydraulic clutch

A very good reason. I did the conversion from auto to manual in '05 and this is the second time that the cable has failed because of headers. I have heard split opinions on the longer cable and I just want to avoid the problem altogether. So back to the original topic. Anyone know what is...

How to upgrade from cable to hydraulic clutch

I've searched the forums and haven't found the info I need. I'm looking for info on what is entailed in upgrading from a cable to a hydraulic clutch. I'm not going to be doing the work myself but I've gotten a wide range of quotes from mechanics so I'm wondering how long it should take. I'm also...

New High Back Seats On A '67?

I'm completely replacing every aspect of my interior soon and I would like to upgrade to some seats with headrests. Has anyone upgraded the seats in their 67 or 68? I'm wondering if a high back or headrests would hit the roof when moving the seat forward to get into the back seat. I'm making a...

Shop In Orange County Ca For My Classic Stang

I'm a little short on cash, but my 67 coupe is undrivable because the shock tower in the drivers side has crumpled from stress. I need to find a shop to do the work. I have had a few quotes from uninsured mechanics working out of their garage for $750, but that is too risky for me. The average...

Shock Tower Replacement And Mustang Ii Front End

Well, this plan is over. I'm just going to replace the old shock tower. I finally got a call back from a mechanic and just the work for installing the mustang II front end is ~$3000. Instead, my new plan is since the engine has to be pulled to replace the shock tower, what work should I have...

Shock Tower Replacement And Mustang Ii Front End

Here are some picture of the old Shock Tower. I am only worried about two things, the delete plate for the space where the towers are and the motor mounts. From the pictures in the kit in the link above, just need to figure out what else I need.

Shock Tower Replacement And Mustang Ii Front End

Sounds like either way, I am forced to pull the engine. The kit doesn't come with filler plates, anyone know where to find them as I assume that a mechanic will charge outrageous amounts to fabricate the new plates. Damn faulty shock towers. Costing me an arm and a leg to replace them.

Shock Tower Replacement And Mustang Ii Front End

I could use a little clarification. I've read some rather ambiguous posts. If I install the mustang II from end, must I replace my disintegrating shock tower? My drivers side shock tower has a foot long stress fracture and it's undrivable. Since fixing the tower would require the engine to be...

The Locking Hood Options For A '67

So I've seen a number of posts on here, and excuse me if I gave up reading them all after reading my 60th thread with no more information than the first. There are just no REAL options out there for locking our hoods if we have a '67. I can't tell you about the other years, since I only own a...

    Time for new bushings?

OK, so I was driving on the freeway two weeks ago. There was a loud noise and I started hearing knocking from my left suspension. It only lasted 5 seconds and then it went away. My car was running a little rough on the suspension, but I drove until I could stop. Turns out that my tire shredded...

    Which wiring harness?

Rusty67 - I get where you are coming from, but my original harness is put together with paperclips and electrical tape. The POs were not thinking ahead when they made some quick fixes. And if I am going to replace it, I want to modernize it. I'm upgrading the alternator and with no upgrades but...

    Which wiring harness?

The AAW Harness was on my short list. Looks like the same price as other wiring kits. Now I just have to decide whether to install everything at once, or do it piece by piece. I hate having piles of parts in my closet waiting to be installed, but It will be easier to do all rewiring in the car...

    Which wiring harness?

OK, so my 67 coupe has had some serious wiring issues. The past owners have crimped and spliced it so much that it is a mess. Then the last owner had an alarm installed and because of the way it was installed, it caused an electrical fire. So I have decided to replace the wiring in the car...

    Pulling Car out of storage

OK, so what I did was. Since the gas tank wasn't full while in storage, I just topped it off with fresh gas. Then I removed the Carb and rebuilt it. I tried bringing the battery home and charging it but it was toast, so I put in a new battery. I turned the key, it sputtered for a minute and...

    Trunk latch not working

OK, so does anyone have any input on maybe where in the lock assembly the extension bar goes and maybe it's orientation or some useful information. Please avoid replies of telling me how you are a better mechanic than I, I'm not here to stroke your ego, just to fix my trunk.

    Trunk latch not working

So I decided to replace the gas cap on my car. I had to move forward the brace that guards the fuel intake pipe and the trunk latch. A piece popped out that is about two inches long with a crescent shape on the end. My friend closed the trunk and it locked, now when I put a key in the lock it...

    Trunk Latch issue

So my friend and I were replacing the gas cap on my 67 coupe. We undid the screws at the top of the latch cover that also covers the gas pipe. Well, the little key latch spring and 2" piece of metal popped out. I went inside to grab my manual and he closed the trunk. So now the key doesn't...

    Pulling Car out of storage

It was stored in an underground garage in Long Beach, so it was a constant temp of 55-70 degrees and not too high humidity. So you think it is safe enough for me to just try starting it? I'm not going to blow it up if there has been any rust in the gas tank? Oil gauge is dead so maybe I should...
