    '90 5.0 GT Vert

Floorpans look good. The dealer that has the car had it up on a stand, so I was able to get under it and look it over. It looked very good. From what I could see from the underside of the engine bay, there were no engine mods either. Kind of a shock.

    '90 5.0 GT Vert

Looking at my first 5.0. I found a '90 GT vert that I am interested in. The car appears to be all stock, down to the Ford mufflers. Being a car guy, I know to look for rust and other obvious things. Is there anything special I should be looking for on this car before I put in an offer on it?

    '71 Mach 1

I am looking at a '71 Mach 1. The car is a bit rough, but I want to get some tips on what to look for. I have been around them before, but never really took the time to learn much about them (when it comes to classics, I have always been a Mopar guy). I know the trunk will need to be replaced...

    2V to 4V

I sold my '02 GT and am going to buy a 96-98 GT. My plan is to swap out the 2v for a 4v (sleeper!!). I know I will need the ecm from a cobra, but are there any major issues I need to watch out for?

How'd you learn to work on cars?

I learned from my oldest brother. He is a mechanic & restores muscle cars as a hobby. I can remeber being 8 years old and helping hang an exhaust system on a 1970 Challenger T/A he built for his brother in law. It was a total basket case and was a beauty when he finished it. The dumbass brother...

    5.4 4V

I am going to be picking up a project car in a few months. I want to get a 96-98 GT and drop a 5.4L motor in it. I am curious as to why everyone seems to go with the 2V 5.4 instead of the 4V. Is there any particular reason?

    Valve Cover Breather Hose collapsing?

Mine just started doing that too. Have you noticed any problems with your idle?

    "modular"?

The term "modular" means that it is able to be built in multiple configurations. It can be buit as either a 2 or 4 valve motor, and can be built as a 4.6l or 5.4l motor. It makes the motor cheaper to produce in each application because a lot of the parts interchange from one model of the motor...

    PCV

Thanks for the reply. I will see if I can get the single port cap off the original and use that. If not, I will just buy one. Is the rubber grommett that matches up with it supposed to be a huge pain in the butt to get in? I started trying to get it in place on Saturday and fiddled with it...

    PCV

Hey Randy: I tried to get the part that you recommended, but my local dealers don't stock it. They gave me part # D9ZZ6A666A. It is different from the original part in that it has 2 tubes on the top and both are considerably smaller than the tube it needs to fit with on the stock setup. Is...

    Pacesetter Headers

Has anyone had any experience with Pacesetter headers? I found a set of their long tubes that are vey low priced and am toying with the idea of buying them.

    Gasket

I changed my intake plenum recently and noticed that the factory setup did not have a gasket between the upper plenum and the plastic intake manifold. The new one I bought did not have a gasket with it either. Is there not supposed to be one there? That just doesn't seem right to me.

And what do they sell for?

    PCV

Ok. If I just ask for replacement pcv valves, does it come with the rubber fittings and all?

    PCV

It shouldn't be. The car only has 28k on it.

    PCV

I was cleaning my engine the other day & noticed some oil on the engine's right valve cover. It seemed odd since I know I didn't spill any when I changed it. I cleaned it and drove it for a few days. I checked it & it had a little oil there again. It looks like it is seeping out of the PCV valve...

    What does PI stand for???

It stands for "performance improved". 99 & up GT's have the PI parts; intake manifold, heads, & cams. The PI motors breathe better than the non PI's. Thus, more power.

    Fuel Filter

Thanks for all of the replies. I have the tool to take it off and am going to use a small clamp I have to keep the fuel spill to a minimum. Sounds like it should be a piece of cake. Thanks again guys!

    Fuel Filter

I am going to change my fuel filter this weekend, but I have a question. I read in the shop manual that you need to relieve the pressure in the fuel system before removing the filter. I know where the shrader valve is, but have never touched one. How does that work?
