    Supercharger & OBD-I tuning

For those who have installed a Vortech on their cars, how much tuning was needed to get reliable driveability? From what I have read, an untuned Vortech at stock boost will make at most 330whp at 6000rpm. For those with a Kenne Bell, it seems like the issues are less frequent. Is this true...

    Cost-effective rebuild?

I am trying to figure out what I am going to do about a new motor. I am not ready to drop $7k or more on a fancy new motor that will make 300 at the wheels. What I am thinking about is getting an Explorer 5.0L and putting some boost to it. It would be the equivalent to boosting a stock...

Whining after gear install, how long?

Shouldn't whine at all. Usually they're quiet at first and then begin to whine as they wear.

Upper RPM power - how would you do it?

Oh yes, I did not mention what was done to the car already :p It's the stock Cobra longblock. 65mm TB and Exhaust. Everything in between is stock. Will an intake really make much of a difference over the Cobra intake?

Upper RPM power - how would you do it?

Okay now that the 4.10's are in, I can really feel where the good 'ole 5.0 runs out of steam up top. My question is this: What is the most cost-effective way to get her to breath up top? Thanks, Gabe

    Transmission upgrade

I have a GForce and 4.10 gears. 1st feels like the stock T5 with 3.73's. The hardest thing about owning a GForce is explaining why you didn't get a Tremec.

Good Local Tranny Shop For My T-5 Rebuild

Ericson is ridiculously fair on price. When I bought mine last year, it was $1k for a WC or $2k for a GF.

Good Local Tranny Shop For My T-5 Rebuild

Ericson Gear & Transmission in West Seattle Ph: 206-938-0324 He built my GForce and usually has the parts on the shelf. He was recommended by Brad's Custom Auto and I'm so glad that they pointed me in his direction. This guy totally knows his stuff and he builds all flavors of T5's...

    '98 Cobra owners - Requesting a favor

I am considering getting rid of my chrome 17x9 '95 Cobra R's for a set of stock 17x8 '98 Cobra wheels. My primary goal is to save some weight. My wheels, with a 255/45/17 GForce Sport tire weigh 55lbs each. For those of you who still have the stock wheels, can you weigh one of your wheels...

    Lightest 17x9 wheel <$200?

I'm considering a wheel change but I would only do it if I can get lighter wheels affordably. So what's out there? The Chrome Cobra R's that I have are probably 27lbs each. The lightest budget wheel I know of is the Konig Villain or Steeda Ultralite at 21lbs. Is there any other choices than...

I think the only way to adjust pinion angle is with adjustable upper control arms.

How much E.T can you gain from driving?

I shift from the lever that comes out of the center console. :jester: Naw for real tho' I shift at 6k. Where do you shift? 104mph N/A? That's fast. I'm sure your cam has a lot to do with that trap speed. Here's my mods: Pulleys Catted x-pipe FMS Headers 3.55 gears

How much E.T can you gain from driving?

My first trip to the track got me a 14.7 @ 96.6mph. After a few more trips, I got it down to 14.0 @ 99.6mph. With Nitrous I was able to get to 13.0 @ 107.9mph. Now, I see guys running times as fast as 12.6 @ 107.8mph. Is it reasonable to strive to improve my driving skills another 4 tenths...

Any clearance issues on tailpipes with a Flowmaster catback and Eibach Pro springs?

I have the same setup. I discovered that my rattling was coming from the tailpipe hanger. The pipe was vibrating against the metal under the bumper. It took a tug on the tailpipe to get it to clear the metal and all was good.

    Will 315/35/17's fit???? L@@K

Manufacturers tell you the acceptable range of rim width. Check out the link on tire & rim width matching. To put it short: 9" min for a 275 and 10.5" min for a 315. http://www.dunloptires.com/care/widthRatio.html

    Sumitomo HTR tires

Hey thanks for the replies and links guys :nice: The sidewall doesn't look too bad in those pics. Yeah that's about what I'm doing as well. I want to shod some 10.5" rims and I don't want to spend a lot of money. The track tires cut into the street budget!
