Hey guys within the next 3 weeks I would like to purchase another mustang. Right now I have a Mazda 3. I have previously owned a 99GT and 01GT. I just got out of school and found a decent job. With the extra cash i want to get either an 05GT or 03-04 Mach 1. Both of these cars are going for 18500 - 22000 here in the midwest. Which should I get? I like the looks of the Mach better, but it seems like there is more options of things to do with an 05+. The GT are actually holding there value really well. I did see this Mach 1 that has peaked my interest.

What do you think? What do you guys use for bargaining techniques? Do you think I can bargain at all with a Mach or 05? My Mazda is an 06 with 33k, im hoping to get at least 9000 for trade.

answers will vary depending on where you ask ('o5+ section for example)

i'd go with the mach1 because they look ALOT nicer and stock for stock a little quicker. seats are alot nicer too:nice:

    The Mach 1.

It'll hold it's value more and with the 4v heads it has more power potential.

Both have their upsides and downsides. 05+ GT's make insane power with just a blower. IMO the Mach1's look better, as most will agree. Interior is alot nicer in the 05+ and much more comfortable than my 00'. I think the Mach will be for fun to push to the limit and drive agressive with. The 05+ feels a little bulky, not to mention is heavier.

I dont think either would be a bad choice.

mach's can make the same power on a blower. 05+ GT's interior is pretty crappy....everything feels cramped, imo. friends said the back seat was smaller than the mach too....lower redline on the GT, hydraulic clutch was meh, shifter is satellite so its wobbly and doesnt have a very good feel to it.

Another vote for the Mach. Had I been able to swing another $5K I'd have one in my driveway as well.

Thank u sir:flag: :nice: ....Definately go for the Mach.... 05 GT's are boring & every other 40+ person out there has a "Legend Lime", automatic, 05 GT.....The 03-04 Mach is one of the best Mustangs EVER made....I really wanted an 05 GT when they came out, now I cant stand em unless there tricked out. Sure the ride is probably a little smoother, & the 3 valve is a great motor, but an 05 GT is an everyday, common, run of the mill car, when a Mach 1 is something special, and its just not your regular mustang. With the Mach you get the best of all the late model stangs combined. U get the killer 32v motor, with the solid axle, not the IRS, plus u get the best interior of all the late models, & nothin beats the Shaker hood....Get the Mach bro, please.....Now if it was an 05-07 Saleen, or 07 GT500, thats a different story.

Maybe this will help u move in the right direction....

My budget was $15K, I had $17K but it would have drained me out of $$$. Any Mach's I was seeing in my area were going for $20K+. I searched for a Stang for a month before finding one I really wanted. They were selling so fast in my area they were usually gone by the time I inquired on one for sale. I only found 3 Mach's for sale during my search; 2 were for sale by dealers at $22K and the 3rd was for $20K from a private owner.

BTW, got my Gt for $15K with a 3 year warranty to boot. :nice:

Wrong. Torch Red was the most produced color. Azure Blue was the rarest color being it was NOT produced on any other vehicle.

like said earlier.. the 05+ feel bulky and heavy. my dad owns one so i know from personal driving expirience. our GT's MACHs, Cobras are alot more "fun" to drive, and look much better. however, If u want more luxury and room, got for the 05+ (thats why u see many many older guys getting into/ or already are owning them)
