100psi

So I installed some autometer gauges the other day for my 02' procharged GT. I got a boost/vac wideband and electric fuel pressure. While putting the harness for the fuel pressure through the firewall, most of the wires got tugged out of the harness clip. So I think I got them all back in the same place, I turned the ignition to the on position and it read about 38PSI (not running) When I went out the next day after I have primed the pump a few more times I noticed the gauge says 100PSI which is maxed out, is this just because I primed the pump so many times without starting the car? or did I get the wires wrong? I cant start the car yet because im redoing the after I/C pipes and MAF. will the rails hold at this pressure until I start the car or relieve the pressure in the rails?
