18 in wheel question

This may be a stupid question but if you go from 18" from 17" wheels will it fill the wheel well more or will it just bring the whole car off the ground an inch and keep the gap the same?

I think the overall wheel gap is the same because the sidewall of the tires usually gets smaller with 18's, thus making the tires close to the same diameter as a 245/45/17...

If you go with a 245/40/18 or maybe a 275/35/18..it will be the same Height.

Yeah these guys are right. The wheel gap will be the same or damn close to it. And if you go to an 18 inch wheel from a 17 inch wheel then (considering proper tire sizes) your car wont be raised an inch. It would REALLY only be raised a half inch. Get some Eibach Pro Kit springs to settle that body right down over the wheels and you will have a killer stance and better performance too.

I had 285/40 17 and just put 265/35 18 and they are the exact same height

what is the biggest tire i can put on a 18x9 rim? i have 295/35/18 on mi rears and is that taller than my 245/45/17?

Yeah, the 265/35/18's are nearly the identical circumference as the 245/45/17's.
