I was looking at a 1993 cobra today with 5K miles. It had pink paint or something on the oil pan near the sending unit? Factory? Any idea why? Thanks.

Yeah that's factory. Ford puts random marks on stuff throughout the car. It's like a check list. There should be some on the axle, near electrical parts, the struts usually have them by the camber plates, rad hoses, stuff like that.

Yeah I know little pink dots are normal. But this oil pan has a 5 inch radius circle of pink paint near the sending unit??
