I am looking at purchasing a 1993 mustang cobra red with the grey leather interior, 48,000 original miles very very clean asking price is 10,000 one problem it has a reconstructed title, what do you guys think? is it still collectable with a branded title, will it be worth more in the future or not because of this?// thanks

Find out if you can have it inspected by the state an get a clean title. I heard some states do that if the repairs are documented to be correct.

I know that Car Insurance will Devalue the Car since it has a Rebuilt Title.

if it has a salvage title I would pay GT price for it. 6k tops, any collectors value is probably gone.

From a collector stand point I doubt that it would increase in value. I know that when I estimate cars (yes, I'm an evil insurance appraiser) a car with a reconstructed title is worth approximatly half of the car's normal actual cash value.

That being said, you can use that to your avantage when negotiating price. If the car is clean get it for a discount. When your driving it, only you'll know about the "R" title & you still have a real cobra. Plus I wouldn't worry too much if you do decide to mod it, hell the value is shot anyway. Go ahead & supercharge or twin turbo it:nice:

That is what I was thinking , but man is it clean I know he passed up 7,500 for it but I was hoping for a car to appreciate, but it would be one hellof a street rod to mod .

From an investment standpoint I think I would stay away from a Reconstructed car, that is unless you can steal it.
