I recently purchased this car to use as a track car. It has 160k miles and recent replacements are:

Eibach Prokit springs
steering rack
MM camber caster plates

I reinstalled the stock Hpipe to pass inspection.

When i accelerate at just about any speed, there is a popping sound from somewhere either near/around the springs or maybe from the tranny area [5speed]. This sound repeats itself when i stop and the weight shifts to the front of the car.

I'm not familiar with this car, so I don't know what the sources could be. My guesses are shocks gone, springs moving in their seats, something broken/lose related to the transmission or transmission housing.

Anybody got any ideas? The sound is like a loaded spring suddenly spinning in it's seat and is a 'metal on metal sound'.

Thanks :)

i'll check the endlinks, but this is a much more 'powerful' sound, as if something very large and made of heavy metal is shifting. i guess it could be the endlinks or swaybar, but the noise is closer to the rear of the engine. . .
