    Hey guys,

I have an opportunity to purchase a 1996 SVT Cobra for 5K. Can you
tell me if it's gonna be worth anything if I restore it to A-1 condition.
right now it needs paint and a few other odds and ends. Also how do
I know what it's build number is and where do I find it. It is presently
black with a Tan leatherinterior and is totally loaded.with all the options.
    Thanks. Ron:shrug:

You'll probably have to hold on to it for a long time for it to be worth anything, and only if the mileage is fairly low. What kind of miles does it have? For $5K, it's either a high-mileage beater or you found one hell of a deal.

This car has 110K, It was at one time hit in the drivers door. It does not seem to have any welded in pieces in the body or the frame. It does however have
some misalignment in the drivers side fender relative to the hood.
Didn't think about CarFax. Looking over the general condition, the interior
is Immaculate, but the paint is shot. Motor has a tick while running, and it's leaking a little oil. Don't know much about the dual overhead cam motor,
so I'm not sure what that tick might be. You guy's have any clue about that.
    Thanks.

No....not for $20,000.....$10,000-$12,000 maybe and that's only if it's in pristine condition.

Agree. Even though it has low miles, and it's an authentic mystic Cobra, that's still too much dough for an eleven year old car.

Even restored the 96 will only bring maybe 12k at the top end. So not a real super duper investment, but not bad if you do all the work yourself....
