I have a 2.3t that was destined for my 92 notch but I have decided that I dont want to mess with the car because its such a damn reliable little beast. So Im considering installing the 2.3t stuff into either an older 4eye stang or I have been kicking around the idea of puting it in the 62 1/2 falcon futura that I have sitting behind my garage. My question is what would it take electrical wise to make this motor work in a car like this. Is it possible to have sort of a stand alone harness if I used the harness out of say an 88 2.3?

I don't know if anyone on this sight has done this swap but I think someone said a few people on www.turboford.org have. Search those forums and see if you can find anything.

PLEASE PUT THE TURBO MILL IN THE FALCON!!!!!!!
It would be so refreshing to see something different, something old-school, but with a turbo-4 lurking under the hood...

i believe a Merkur Harness is your best option. Its got all the wiring for the turbo and non of the extra Crap the TC harness has. (ABS, Ride control, etc.) An 80's 2.3 harness would not be a bad option either, but you would have to make a few minor changes to it.

A TC harness never crossed my mind. I was thinking more along the lines of a mustang 2.3 harness. Is the merkur harness different from a mustang harness?

Merkur engine harnesses are completely separate from the rest of the car's wiring, so they're basically a standalone.
