Been reading on here, never drove in a 2.3T before. How does it feel when the boost comes in? Does it slam you to the seat at all?

It can't run with a 99+ gt can it?

I went for a ride in Brantley's car once. It threw me back in my seat just like my buddies 5.0. As soon as the boost hits it’s a hell of a hide. I’m sure with the right mods a 2.3T could take a 99+ gt, hell they only came with 260 hp. I think when he was done Brantley was putting down like 325 at the wheels.

Yeah it throws you back pretty good...my car doesn't hit full boost until 3000 RPM, but when it does man it takes off.

well my 90lx has a stock IHI turbo on 18psi boost. it sports a ported head and a crane cam with a 8.8 rear with some 4.10's.....I would be surprised if it didnt put down around 220hp and around 260-275lbs to the ground....so ya i would say it has a good chance of hanging with a GT. my car will pull you back but it wont "slam" you in your seat. it is very snappy with the 4.10 rear. I have a garret t3/t4 waiting to go in when i finish the rebuild. which with a good cam and a nice Port job im hopeing to hit 400RWHP around about 20psi.

Typically they "feel" faster than a car with similar hp because they power comes on all at once...you stroll along at 80hp and then all the sudden BAM you get hit with 20+psi and gain 150-200hp in about 1.5 seconds.

When my LX was mildly modded, I walked all over 94-01 GT's all the time, even ones with exhaust/intake mods...they didn't have a chance from a roll.

I love my turbo.. it does give the impression on being faster then it really is beacuse of what stinger described, your power smacks you all at once.. especially fun when it does it mid corner.... :D

my fairly stock 2.3T would walk all over lightly modded 99+ Gt's.

    2.3 stock bottem
    home ported head
    home ported intake manifold
    Stock t3 turbo
home ported E6 Stock exhuast manifold
cheap Saab intercooler (pulled from junkyard)
Stinger 3inch downpipe, homemade 3inch exhaust
    a237 cam
    Cone air filter (not k&n)
    ...... +20psi
......Foxbody car that wieghs atleast 300lbs less than the later Sn95 platforms :)

It feels like someone slammed into you from behind and is giving you a push.

    Agreed.
I love the midrange push into your seat. its not the take off that is so much fun, it is the rolling take off. If you want them to, they will still spin tires though.

    I recomend it!
