My brother's 83 GL had the headlight area black and the louvers body colored from the factory. I didn't like it at first but it grew on me. Definetely black for the headlight area though, up to you for the louvers!

I don't dig body-colored trim on the four-eyed Foxes, personally. It looks good (when done right) on the Aero Foxes, partly because body-colored mouldings were available from the factory on the later models (about '91-'93, IIRC). The only four-eyed Foxes I can think of that came all body-colored from the factory were like the GT350 models in '83 or so, where they even whited-out the area around the headlights. That look just never sat well with me - looks like someone repainted the car and got too lazy to mask things off. :notnice:

I'll be repainting the trim on my '86 GT 'vert soon, but I'll be painting it black instead of the factory charcoal gray. I like to have a little bit more contrast, plus it'll tie in a bit better with the factory black GT hood stripe. About the only colors I'd leave the trim as factory-gray, actually, would be on a white or gray/silver car - on everything else, it just looks like black trim that's faded to a gray with age. Makes the car look kinda worn out and run down, even when it's clean, IMO.
