hey i recently just got a 88 mustang its a 5.0 with a 5 speed and its missing 2nd 3rd and 4th gears the guy i got it from said it was a synchro box and its a 50 dollar part but ive never heard of one ive heard of actual synchros but not a box. is there actually a box or would that just be the synchros?
The guy doesn't know what he's talking about. There are 3 separate synchros, and you have problems with two of them. Without taking the trans apart, it's hard to guess what the prob is, but i'd say something is messed up with the shift rails unless all 3 gears got grenaded.
