    94 GT 5.0 Engine Life

How long do you think the engine will last on a 94 GT 5.0Liter Stang engine? I'm thinking of buying but its got some high mileage, but if it'll last another 60,000 or so i'd probably get it. So before i tell you the mileage, any ideas on the "average" mileage these cars last?

160K stock bottom , heads, valvetrain, cam, etc..been pushing lotsa n2o for a year and now boost since Oct. I have my motor apart and the cylinder walls are beautiful along with clean pistons with light carbon. I feel like it is just getting broke in now.

160,8** still going strong :nice:. I've got some noise from the lifters/valves, but It's still running great. I just beat a 97 4.6 5-speed with exhaust, cai, and maybe some other stuff a few days ago.

Wow, I guess I still have a lot of life left in my motor then. It's running great at 122,000. :D :nice:

I wouldn't worry about mileage if the car has been taken care of. These 5.0's are very well built.

106k here. Even with the wires that came from the factory (yeah I know I need to do something about that) it still runs like a champ. I actually seems like it runs better now then when I first bought it. And it was sitting for like a year in that states after I got here.

178,512. Never had a problem aside from a water pump (105,000) and a harmonic balancer (117,000).

I'm surprised...I got everyone who has posted beat!

I'm running at 201,000 miles. The engine is starting to make some new noises so I'm starting to shop around for a new car. Not sure yet if I'll keep her and drop some cash on a new engine. So far, it's gone through a water pump, alternator, transmission, a few batteries, and I think the AC is going.

    94 GT 5-speed.

    ...

I forgot to mention my car is stock and also that she doesn't burn much oil and I'm getting 23 mpg highway. I'm impressed.

152k on the GT and just recently stopped using oil.:shrug:Only thing I've done to the engine is waterpump and balancer.
244k on the Merc 5.0L runs like new, uses about 1qt per 3000 miles. I've had this car a year and have put no new parts on it.

163,000 I've replaced the balancer, water pump, and a alternator. The tranny makes alot of noise, but that's just an excuse to tell the wife,"we need to upgrade" :nice:   :flag:
