hey guys I recently picked up a 95 svt cobra and am happy with it but as you know theres always the want for more power. I heard that a bigger t/b and maf would make a big difference. would it be a big difference or not even noticeable? if it will make a difference what should I go with? I knew about my 89 mustang but I don't know much about my cobra yet. I don't know what size throttle body or maf it has stock.

also I saw a post on here about borla stingers. I'm pritty positive that it was just because of my computer speakers but it sounded kinda ricey. they don't sound like that in person right? I had an off road h pipe and flowmasters on my 89 mustang and I didn't like the way it sounded how it got loud at drone and then quited off once it got further through the rpm range. I want something that will get louder as it revs higher. will these do that? I think I have flowmasters on my cobra but I haven't lifted it yet and cant see under there. also maybe the drone is bad in my cobra because o no tail pipes? I don't know I didn't notice it when I was buying the car. I was thinking of putting some turndowns on it, will that change the sound at all?

    any info is greatly appreciated

Your car has a 65mm TB & 70mm MAF stock, so I don't think you'd see much improvement (if any) stepping up to larger pieces. Exhaust is a great place to start. If you wan't something that has a nice tone at idle & gets loud when you step on the gas, check out the Pypes exhaust line. A violator catback with an x-pipe sounds absolutely wicked!

    ok thanks.

i heard that the pypes exhaust kits were bad quality and didn't fit right?

I'm thinking of maybe going with a cam and having the stock gt40 heads ported and polished. what kind of cam do you think I should go with? and would there be a big enough difference to have the heads done and put in a new cam? I know the cobras came with a different cam than the gts but I don't know how it compares to others.

I wouldn't bother getting a new tb and maf at this point. You won't see much if any gains. Trust me, been there done that. They only make a difference once you get a good set of heads and an intake.

(just for reference you have a 60mm tb right now, not a 65. Only the 93 Cobras had a 65mm tb).

I would suggest getting either an off-road h,or x pipe or one wth high flow cats. That made on of the biggest difference on my car. Underdrive pullies also make good gains on these cars.

The thing w/ modding push rods or any mustang for that matter is that not just one mod makes a difference. You have to do a few related to each other to make the most difference. Such as with the TB just doing that wont really do much but if you replaced the heads the intake and a bigger TB then they would all work together for more power.

As far as a cam if your going to go w/ a better cam then you might as well do the heads to or your in the same situation I mentioned above. Most people do the Heads/Cam/Intake as a project. They make pre assembled kits that give you everything you need such as the Systemax kit and the Trick Flow kits.

The more important question is what are your HP goals w/ the car and whats your budget at?
