95 gt wants a new intake system

I have noticed that a lot of people recommend getting the intake and heads off of ford explorers as opposed to buying the gt40 parts. Supposedly they are virtually the same. My question is, what year explorers or is it any v8 explorer regardless of model year?

97-01 5.0 explorers had the gt40P heads that are the revised gt40 heads, older explorers had the standard gt40 heads

i belive all the 5.0 explorers came with the gt40 intake

The Explorer/Mountaineer used GT40's (same as the Cobra) until about mid '97, where they switched to the GT40P heads. To my knowledge, the intake was the same on all of the 5.0 engines. The only catch is that the valvetrain (springs) were different on the Cobra versus the Explorer, from what I've read.
