I've read that 94-95's come standard w/steel bearing retainers. Can anyone back this up? If so, you just might save me a trip before I hit the tranny shop. (going for a rebuild/clutch swap). If it's steel and in good shape, I'm sticking with it! Thanks, Alex.

Are you talking about the retainer for the throwout bearing? The retainer is rivited (sp?)to the clutch release lever. If you want to replace the retainer, you need to replace the ENTIRE release lever.

Huh? The front bearing retainer is what is siliconed and bolted (I think) to the actual 'body' of the trans. I just replaced mine about 6 months ago, and I didn't have to replace anything but the retainer. And yes, they were steel. The OE's that you get from Ford are as well.
