96 cobra high idle

i just purchased a 96 cobra, after 1 week, i decided to work on car, i found the harness disconnected for the iac valve. i connected harness, then car started to idle at 2500-3000 rom for about 45 seconds, then drop down to normal, then it would raise right back up, then drop.. then i disconnected iac, then car idle normal. the car has a cold air intake and bbk throttle body. also what color are the stock injectors supposed to be? thanks for the help
