I have a friend that has a 98 3.8l mustang that once in a while will not want to start. It turns over but refuses to start. I unplugged the E-distributer to simulate it not starting and he said that is exactly how it sounds. I tried some other tests and pretty much confirmed that it probably was something with ignition.
Is there a common problem with these? A senor, the computer, loose wire? I am boggled due to it being so electronically controlled.
I noticed that when it does start it takes a lil bit for it to start. it kindof spudders as it starts up. eventually I think the computer corrects the engine and allows it to run fine.
He had taken it to Bosch for a tune up and the wires checked out fine.
My big question is; is this a common problem and/or does anyone know how to fix this?
thanks,
TurboFlush
