Need some help quickgot a 99 cobra that hesitates bad from idle to 2300 rpms.Gets better once car warms up i have changed tha plugs, fuel filter, and the upstream o2s plus cleaned the maf and the intake runners.Keeps throwing the p1130 and the p0174 code.Ford told me there was a air/fuel senser on the car but cant locate it.
heres the update removed plugs to check and bank 1 plugs are firing but bank 2's plugs were covered in carbon .Can any body give me a explanation what can cause this? What can cause the side to side diff.
My guess is a bad O2 sensor on that side. See this for P1130 http://fordfuelinjection.com/files/HEGO_OBDII.pdf Also see this for P0174: http://affordableserviceonline.com/GM/LMvan/Pcodes/gmdtc_p0174.htm Search is your friend. Just google on "dtc Pxxxx" and you'll be amazed at what comes up. They could very well be related. The O2 sensor is what they were referring to as the A/F sensor. It would be the first one upstream from the cat. The rears really don't do much. Replace both upstreams just to be on the safe side. Oh, and use the Ford units rather than generic Bosch replacements. Hope this helps. Good luck....
interesting! mine's been having the same problem... just haven't had good enough weather to work on it.
