$30?! Don't lose any of the parts.

Congrats on finally finding it though. Maybe you should have gotten the fox body one as well. Then you could put rack and pinion on it.;)

i could only afford one, got it about a week ago. pretty darn nice i must say, much better than the resin kits i've ever seen before.

that shouldn't be too hard there are only 2, the body and the interior. what you see in the pic is what you get

yep, you still have to buy the revell 69 mach 1 kit, to finish the car. i think you could probably get the 70 boss 429 and use the 70 front end to make this kit a 70 coupe

Wait as sec, $30 for just those parts? What, are they custom made or something from the original Mach or something? That seems crazy. How's the quality? Would I get extra contest points if I chop it into a vert?????

I have had my eye out for some time for either a coupe or vert, but no one ever makes anything other than a sportsroof regardless of the genre.

Hmmmm, this would make a fun winter project though.

EDIT: Also, how do we know it matches up with the Revel kits for sure? And not say ERTL or AMT? I didn't see any mention what so ever on the link.

Pak, try this link, there shows a b/a Trans am coupe. It is pretty expensive also. They also have some other really cool kits.

This is the original lit from REVELL it is either a coupe or convertible, Unopened it way over $100. There is also a 70 Grande that is slight more. so yes this was a-lot but I wanted it and the alternative is more………..coupe/convertible on EBAY right now…………………………..http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5920891006&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

I guessing the other kit will work, that is how it usually is. I’ll be getting it to find out. There are also 1/24 scale torque thrust II's too.

Hunh, $15 seems kinda cheap right now for the partially finished one on ebay, but if anything is missing or messed up than you're screwed. I can't believe they actually made a coupe/vert option back in the day. So do you think this new body for $30 was cast off of this original then? And that's why we think the Revell mach kit will match up?

Seems 64.5 - 68 canbe had in all it's forms, but after that it's mostly all sportsroofs, from what I've seen anyway, but I haven't been on a goose hunt for it either. I have been looking for any form though when I do, wether it's a Matchbox or franklin mint. We should just run off our own, lol. I used to make hundreds of 2 part molds when I was younger and into custom action figures. I got tired of buying items for a lousy hand or torso and just started to cast replicas of all my exisitng parts out of resin to create an endless supply. I even started to hand sculpt alot of parts first that I couldn't find before I finally gave it up completely to work on a real car in my spare time.

Never seen a 69/70 Vert model. I've been looking for one since 1990 when I first bought Chepie. Even the Die-Casts, all sizes. Pak, go for the Vert. I may be interested in that body and make my own vert....

here is another cool auction from the same seller that eric posted earlier

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5920897939&fromMakeTrack=true

he has a 69 fastback funny car and a 69 or 70 boss pro stock car as well. the Blue Max holds some personal sentiment to me as well, my step dad's sister was married to Raymond Beadle when he was racing the Blue Max and his daughters are my cousins (in-law) so i would like to find one of his floppers in model form too.

hey pak, i think you should join us in our modeling contest. what would be really cool is if you bought one of the coupes and try to find one of the 69 shelby vert models and use the vert specific stuff to make yours.

i'm already kit bashing mine, i found a 67 fastback that has a small block (289) but at that scale you really wouldn't be able to tell a 289 from a 351w anyway. i also have a 69 cougar eliminator that i may rob some parts from too. there is another company that makes a resin hood and front end to make the 69 cougar model i have into a 70. if i can find it again i'll make just like my old 70 cougar, wimbledon white with a black vinyl top :nice:
