I currently have my GT at a shop right now, as I was getting some PI cams installed. Trouble is that I believe I have some piston to valve clearence issues, as there is a horrid knocking sound from the driver's side of the motor (even with the old cam in). Should I have the shop tear it down and attempt to fix the issue or would it be best to try and find a salvaged 96-98 SOHC (cheaper) to throw in it? I don't want to part it out because I want to sell it running. Any advice? Or anyone know where I can find a used SOHC engine, besides Ebay? Thanks all!

Have the shop take a look at it first before you do anything; I think it would be pointless to drop a whole new engine in there (even a used one) before you even know what the true problem is.

I highly doubt you can get PTV unless the shop didn't degree the cams when installing them.
