Airbag recall on 06's and PCM code!!

Recently took my 06 gt to the dealership for a reflash to correct the airbag issue per the recall. My question is would this be noted as fixed when looking up my VIN on Carfax or the Ford owners site? My problem is that my PCM code is VDX1. I know that there is an update for this code which I believe takes care of the recall. I still have the VDX1 sticker on my box. Wouldn't the dealership replace the old one with the new number? I'm looking for a way to verify what my code is and if in fact the recall was taken care of. I had an oil change done at the same time and aside from that being on the work order all it says is recall with no details noted. The dealership seems to have left this information out of the paperwork. I can't order my CAI and tuner without knowing the correct code.

Are you talking about for the passenger seat issue? That's the only recall I know about for the airbags. The recall did not effect the tune. My dealer did not reflash the PCM when performing the recall. That's not to say that a dealer hasn't done a reflash with the recall but it wasn't needed.

Who are you using for tuning? What kind of tuner? If you're really worried that the PCM was reflashed than ask for your tuner to mail your cai and tuner with no tunes and than you can pull the PCM code than email it to him. Once he writes the tunes, he'll email them, you can download them to the tuner, and you'll be all set.

Yes, I am referring to the passenger seat issue. The recall # is 08C02. I read that the fix involved a reflash to correct the issue. Two dealerships confirmed this when I talked with them. There is also an update from PCM code VDX1 TO CODE SRV0. Bama has a good sticky on this, which also mentions the reflash.

I haven't decided who I'm going to order my CAI and tuner from yet (leaning towards Brenspeed), but Your suggestion sounds like the solution. Thanks

The reflash for the airbag does not effect the PCM though. I promise. However, since there is a updated tune for your PCM code there is no way to know for sure. I'd do what I suggested to make sure you get the right tunes. Check out VMPTuning.com, too.

Thanks. It was the update that had me concerned. I've got no idea if they updated my code or not. I'm going with your suggestion. It makes perfect sense. Are you using VMP? I have heard they are good tunes as well. By the way, your car is absolutely sick. I love the look.

I'm using VMP Tuning's tunes. I've used them for quite a few cars and have nothing but good things to say about Justin's work and customer service. Thanks for the compliments !!

THe PCM doesn't control the airbags. THere is another module that does, and that is what they reflash. PCM should not be affected
