I went in today for my alignment appointment, and what do you think happens? I wait around for 2 hours and they come in and say we cant do it, computer wont take the info. I got the info for them out of my haynes manual and they cant enter it in for some reason. It took 2 hours for them to figure this out  Looks like ill be going to leschwab now :nono: I didnt want to go there originally because of past experience but oh well.

I took my car into a midas, talked to the owner first to make sure they know how to do it.... It also took them about 50 minutes of walking around the car and flipping through various manuals... but they go it! That was after the attendant couldn't start my car to pull it into the bay :D

They did let me drive it out though :)

Gah.....ive had miserable times trying to get the stang aligned. Only thing Ive ever let anyone else work on, was my alignment due to the fact that I didnt have the proper tools....3 different places led to a broken shifter, ripped off brake lines.......and added mileage.....Ill never let anyone else touch her. Lots of good info on the web, you should be able to do it yourself.

I bought a caster/camber tool and some shims from a circle track place, used a tape measure for the toe, and I haven't had a problem :nice: I only did this of course after going through the exact same experience you did. :nonono:

you have to remember that your car is like 20 years older than most of the service techs who only know how to do computer alignments on cars made after 1985.

Talk to memebers of the nearest mustang club. There are shops that can do the work. The method is Lug Centric. In my area, the Midas Muffler shop did it correctly. It took a couple of hours and it was well worth it.
