I just read in the June Modified Mustangs the article/interview w/Wilson manifolds that they are working on a composite manifold design for 3v 4.6 cars. Anybody have any inside scoop on this one or any updates on the FAST intake?

i don't think anybody knows for sure. although is 30 hp worth 900 bucks? unless i'm mistaken that was the retail price.

I'd say 30 to the rear wheels would be...

yeah, after i wrote that i did a little calculation and it's similar to what you'd get per dollar for a supercharger [obviously not all s/c's are alike and not all have the same output, but in general $30 per horsepower is a decent calculation].

Especially if you wanted to stay N/A since that is a whole different type of power than the spray/supercharger/turbo route.

Yea, I'm still waiting on seeing what comes out of these new manifolds. I would like to reach 400 hp (350+ whp) NA. I'm guessing it can be done with cams, full exhaust, CAI, dyno tune, and one of these new intakes if they are all they're suppose to be.

good luck with the cams. . . from all i've heard your money's better spent elsewhere unless you're married to the n/a route. see http://www.mustangforums.com/m_3126218/mpage_1/key_cams/tm.htm for a very spirited debate on whether cams in the 3v motor are worth it. i'm no mechanic, just trying to facilitate the movement of useful info!

i have to agree unless you're building a stroker shortblock with more compression the cams aren't going to make a big difference. same with the intake. fast claims to get 30+ hp but they are comparing a bone stock GT to one with their intake and a tune. figure the tune is worth 20-25hp alone so is it really necessary unless you have more cubes to fill. i ported my stock one and it's taking a while to get the tune worked out but it really did help but mainly i think because i also added the deletes at the same time so i may have gained 20hp or so with both. i'll know more when i go to the track this weekend and get some runs to compare with before.

I never thought of it that way, with the C&L and a tune im getting 20-25, heck that means thier intake is only worth about 5.
