Any experiences with head work and/or new cams in (northern) CA?

Way I see it, some good head work and/or a mild cam which would pass the sniffer test here in CA would also pass a "visual inspection", since the engine internals are not examined in SMOG tests, even here in CA

I am obviously not the only person here in the CARB occupied state of CA that would believe this to be true. Has anyone with a '99-'04 GT had any experience(s) with this sort of modification in (northern) CA?

I believe I asked something along these same lines a couple years back, and got squat as far as useful replies go. A search still turns up nothing in this realm, either.

Any thoughts/experience out there, now?

yea.. i am also interested... would the vt stage 1 or 2's pass the sniffer? with a catted x? any other cams?
if i could find some cams that would pass..i would deffinately do that..

the VT stg 1 cams can pass emissions but only with the STOCK H-pipe other than that you will fail
