ok after work today me and a bud went to the carwash to wash our cars... he found some chrome wheel cleaner laying around. he used it on his crappy wheels.

well i figured what the hell so i sprayed some on my car, my wheels are polished alum. and i am no car care expert so...

well i looked at the bottle and said not to use on polished alum, i look at my wheels and there are spots on them where the cleaner was..... i tried some wheel cleaner i had in the house and to no avail. These wheels arent that good so its not the end of the world, but i would still like to have them look nice...

think some fine steel wool might help it?? any way to fix this???

go ahead and call me stupid...

Some aluminum polish, using a powerball or flitz. If you don't have those, then the polish with some good old elbow grease.

yep....start with a 600 grit sandpaper, then go to a 2000....get some mother's polish, rub in, and remove...will shine like new!

Mothers polish is awesome. Sometimes you just have to keep applying more and more and more after you rub it on a wipe it off, but it's totally worth it in the end. You'll end up pretty tired, but it should remove all the stains.
