hey guys. i will be moving out of cali to arizona in january to go to Universal Technical Institute to become a auto/diesel mechanic which means i will be living in Avondale(phoenix) Arizona for about two years and im gonna need something to do besides school. where im at right now we have classic car/ hot rod meets every friday night at a drive in resturant called Sonic. this is what i look forward to every week and when i move im hopping for something like this near phoenix. so what im getting at is...if there is anybody that lives there or knows of meets or something that goes on there like my friday night thing here, that would be great info to have. thanks for everything guys
Dang, thats right around where I grew up...but not sure of any clubs/meets etc. I'll ask my dad if he knows of any, my parents live in avondale, there is a sonic right there so maybe it'll be like you never left. What area in cali do you live?
thanks dude! right now im Bakersfield, ive been here for about 2 months(family reasons) before that i lived in Valencia(Santa Clarita, Magic Mtn)
I live up in Flagstaff, AZ, but I understand that there's a pretty good scene down in Phoenix. Your local club will be Copperstate Mustang Club, which is a large and well-known club. The hot rod scene has a decent following there as well, and the Good Guys Southwest Nationals are coming up in late November. There's also the Barrett-Jackson auction to check out in late January, just for the spectacle. Anyway, get in touch with the Mustang club. They'll hook you up with the skinny on cruise-ins and stuff. http://www.copperstatemustangclub.com/
I'm here in the Mesa Area, there are tons of shows. The biggest weekly car show (and worlds longest running weekly show) is at the Scottsdale Pavilians at the 101 & Indian Bend. Then 2 times a year there is a huge cruisein on central (downtown Phoenix). There is a localmsutang group that's pretty cool www.1320stangs.com (they have grown in membership tons this year). Also checkout http://www.cruisinarizona.com/carshows.html or just PM me.
The Pavillions is always a good one. Don't be late though it usually dries up after 9:00 pm. It would be a bit of a drive from Avondale. That Cruisin Arizona site can point you to something closer. P.S. get your A/C up to snuff before May
