Hi have been trying to contact RRS Suspension out of Australia but have not received any reply to my emails from Tony. Anyone know what is happening with them ?
I called them a couple weeks ago. Talked to someone. I personally think that you can buy something from TCP that is the same thing for the cost of the RRS stuff.. I think RRS is actually a bit high.
Tried to get some stuff from them once before and it was a hassle that led to an eventual cancellation. Although just the other day I inquired about something and they responded quickly.
I think Tony has the online rights - pretty sure there are some other companies with US distribution and support rights out there. The RRS stuff is pretty good. I cant compare it to TCP as I havent tried it, but its been going fine in my car for several years.
You could also call Alex, from Money Maker Racing. He has a pretty kick ass coil over setup. 219-861-1214 Tell him Greg from California sent you. IM sure he will take care of you.
Many thanks for info. I did try TCP about six months ago and was shocked that they pretty much just blew me off. I came to them looking to spend $ 8000 - $ 9000 for a complete coil over, rack and 3 point rear system, but didn't get anywhere with them. I then ordered an RRS system through Gateway Classic Mustang, but now they cannot deliver the RRS system.
Do you want me to dig up their contact details? I am not all that far from their factory. I've been there a couple of times - as far as I am aware they are still around.
Here you go this is what I pulled out from my RRS manual. RRS makes some nice parts. The problem is getting those parts into your hands. The distributors here in the states have all been having the same problem. They place an order then wait....and wait....and wait...until the customer cancels the order. Good luck with your order. The RRS products are well engineered and good quality. Well worth it if you can actually get them.
My local shop installs a lot of suspension upgrades and I've seen just about all of them - without driving more than a few mind you. Bang for the buck TCP wins - especially when you're talking a full setup with rack, PS and all. With the exchange rates as they are it's tuff being an Australian manufacturer exporting to the US. Oh, and for some reason all my own stuff is Global West!
Thanks COV3R for contact info. Also thanks to DK832 for info. I haven't had any luck when I tried to get usefull information from TCP, thus went looking at RRS. How has your Global West equipment worked out. Are you pleased with the ride and handling ?
How about Total Cost Involved? They have a 3 link too. I don't know how good it is, haven't heard anyone using it on here. I'm interested in a 3 link rear as well and appreciate the good info getting thrown around on this when it comes to customer service. I hate it when the service sucks. Makes ME go elsewhere.
What do you mean when you say that you couldnt get any usefull information about TCP? what were you wanting them to tell you?
I phoned TCP's Technical Service line and reached an individual to whom I explained that I was looking to drop $8K-10K for a total suspension/steering system. Looking for coil overs, spindles, disc brakes, rack, and three link rear. Person I talked to would not give me any help. I asked question after question looking for advice on which TCP products to go with. I asked about various brake systems, different shock packages and required wheel sizes. All I got was a couple of yes/no answers followed by "I don't have time for this" and then "click". Clearly not interested in my buisness. Thus I went to Gateway Classic Mustang and ordered a $9K system from RRS. Only now they cannot supply the RRS suspension. So I then asked the question has anyone else had problems finding RRS contact.
Twosheds, I ordered my RRS suspension in June with a 4 week promised delivery time from Gateway Mustang. Long story short, RRS stoped shipments to the U.S. due to the exchange rate. Jason/Greg (Gateway) outsoured to U.S. companies, but it has taken forever. I called every week - Basicly yelling at the end. They sent me pictures today prior to shipment of my strut setup. The rack is 4 weeks out at least - Canceled my order. Not sure if they are sending my tower brace or not. It's been a mess. Three weeks ago, I called my credit card and asked them to get my money back. They gave Gateway until this week. I'm not sure how many sets they purchased, but I understand at least ten people are in my shoes. Hopefully you will start to see movement, they finally overcame machining/plating issues. Most likely mine is the first set - Hope it's right. I can hook you up with pictures/ contact info if needed... I have a long history with this... Mike 65 Mustang RRS 3 Link RRS Phase II - Being delivered this week.
Geez no good to hear you are getting messed around like that. Hopefully it will turn out ok when/if they arrive.
I bought a 3 Link kit last year, for my 66, before deciding to keep the Leafs, with Slide-a-Links. If someone is interested, I will be advertising it for sale soon. If someone wants it, send your Zip code, so I can work out a shipping price. It is all new, boxes aren't even opened, with the QA1 coilovers. It would certainly save some time, as it is all here, ready to go. If someone wants to call me, I am in Australia, if you're from the US, please call from about 4pm onwards, your time Country code 61 cell number 418 393 408 Steph
Anyone know what Front Brake Pads to use with the RRS Phase 1 setup? I called RRS in Australia and they don't seem to be able to answer me. They always say they will call back but don't. Help !!
