Have you noticed and increase in road noise? Any squeeking or adverse effects/reactions? What would be the long term effects of running without isolators? Much appreciated!
i am running without a left rear isolator, back is drooping bout 1/2 inch as well as making alot of noise comparativly, and ride harshness has greatly increased in the rear... its not THAT bad, but annoying when only one is gone. Torinalth
I removed all of the isolaters when I put new springs on and the only diff. I notice is the car is sitting lower. No real increase in road noise.
do the stock springs have isolators?? Would i be able to take them off to lower it a bit without buying springs??
VERY. I'd suggest you leave in the rear springs-lower isolators though - I took them all out except those.
If I were you, when you first put the lowering springs in, put all the isolators on and then after the car settles if you don't like the drop then start taking them out.
Well, the reason I started this thread was because I swapped out my suspension from my Bullitt. Bullitt suspension out, and this suspension in: - Bilstein HDs all around - H&R Race Springs - Urethane spring isolators on all 4 corners - Pro3i LCAs - Steeda HD UCAs - GRC Performance SFCs Well, I was going to go with H&R SuperSports but got worried about the drop. I want to go with long tubes next and did NOT want any scraping issues. The H&R Race springs provide less of a drop (an additional drop from the Bullitt springs of 1/2 inch.) I thought this would be perfect. Three other Bullitt owners ran these and liked their handling and slight drop. After installing Race springs with the urethane isolators, my ride height has INCREASED over the stock Bullitt height! After waiting 2 weeks, my fronts are 1/8 inch higher and rears are a whole 1/2 inch higher. What options should I consider: 1) Remove all isolators 2) Cut the current Race springs slightly & keep isolators 3) Get the SuperSports and sell the Race Springs (kind of a PITA & pricey) All suggestions are much appreciated!
That's really to bad... overall that sounds like a sweet setup! I love my SuperSport springs, they are the perfect drop IMO. If you can sell the Race springs I would go that route. I definitely would not even consider cutting those springs, bad idea. And you could try and remove the isolators but still don't think you'd be happy.
Didnt read all the posts, but I just re-used the stock isolators when installing the Pro-Kit, doesnt really have any problems other that it could use some Bilstein's
