I on the other hand dont mind keeping this thread alive or and I didn't mind what the subject matter was at first or now.MustangMatt1966 said:then technically u dont have any room to talk either, because u added no value to this thread acept a complaint and a flame...if you have nothing to say, dont say it at all....:Zip2:
Your carb is out of tune, or the motor is. Just as is, the 750 isn't so big that it would cause your problems. I've got a 750 like it on the 5.0 in my 89 Ranger. Runs fine, starts fine, zero problems. That said it is too big for the motor if the secondaries would open fully, but they won't. It would run better with a smaller carb, but this is what I had handy and until I run across a good deal on something like a 600, I'll just leave it as is. You simply need to tune the motor and carb to get it running right. Changing jets isn't going to do it, you'll simply lean the mixture out once it's off the idle circuit. You can't make a carb smaller by reducing the jet sizes, it just doesn't work that way.tylerdru said:Okay i really do have a question now. Could i rejet the carb with smaller jets? Would this help any. I am getting gas in the oil and backfires through the carb. I am also running lean. The timing is right. too.
