Anyone with Tremec 3550 knowledge

Any idea how to get the rear seal for the trans? Is it the same as a t-5? Also, will the speedo gear from a t-5 work in it? Thanks.

The rear main seal is the same. The gear will work, but the speedo may not be right. I'm not sure about the 3550 gear ratios, I don't think they're the same as the T5- but physically it will work. Use the speedo calibration unit at Hanlon to see if you have the right gear

Speedo gear needs to be from a 5-speed, not an auto -- and it will be the same as the early cars, not the 90+.

can't remeber if its a 7t or and 8t for the speedo drive gear, I just bought one for mine, a red one cause i have 3.73's

Well, it's the same as the early T5's -- which makes it a 7 tooth. The later T5's (90+) changed to an 8 tooth, so in that case it would be different. That's what I was trying to get at in my first post.

Yeah, tremecs are a 7t drive gear. I'm going to need the red 21t gear for mine.
