Built AOD for the strip and 5 speed for the street and occasional track runs. I love bangin through the gears baby.

It all depends IMO on whether or not it's an all out drag car with tons of power or if it's a street strip car. For all out racing I'd use an auto, but for street I'd use a 5 speed which I have in all 3 of my Mustangs.

i perfer my 5 speed so i can have all kinds of control, but it's not as consistant as aod. but i don't care, im not looking for perfect 13s or anything.

I'd rather lose ET in the quarter shifting my own gears than be faster with an AOD. IMO automatics don't belong in racing...it's too much of a point and shoot, but to each his own.

built AOD here....really consistent for the track, and its not as boring as some think when you shift it yourself??? but i agree a 5sp is more fun!

i like my 5speed i swapped into my AOD car, but the t5 is OVERRATED. i wouldnt mind having a nice AOD with a stall and valve body. just to be different.

My only issue with an auto...

ANYONE who weighs less than you and can floor it will run faster. There is no skill involved in driving one down the track (so long as its set up right and tracks straight).

For an all out purpose built drag car...

PROSHIFTED Tremec for me thanks. Seen my friend 9.9-10.0 car run with the Tremec and seen even faster cars and can say there probably is no more fun than that. Id rather go 9.80s in a stick car than mid 8s in an auto and thats the truth!
