A couple of question for those Sixer Scientists out there...

1.) What are the dimensions of the automatic transmission or can you help me find the dimensions?

2.) Is it possible to fit a T56 in my sixer instead of my automatic... I realize I will need to add a clutch pedal, as well as cables and etc. but will the transmission fit in the auto's place?

3.) What will I need to change, mod, or add to make it capable of a T56 (ie. extend/shorten drive shaft, cut in chassis, or underbody, etc.)?

    Thanks a lot!

Shortened driveshaft. D&D performance sells driveshafts for T56 conversions. You'll need to grind off about an inch of the floor panel in order for the shifter to go through. You'll need a new cross member (also d&d performance) or just grind down the one you have.

As far as the body is concerned there's no significant difference between the Cobra and base models.

What is this Electronic and Mechanical Speedo? Which should I choose?

On D&D's website; http://ddperformance.com/T56%20Kits.htm they got part # AU, is that what I should get? Or should I find a T56 else where and then just purchase their Shaft, and crossmember?

Not sure on the speedo... I know mine is mechanical but I'm not sure about later years and different models. Personally, I would go with mechanical, if it is infact an option, because I loathe electronics.

If you piece together the kit yourself, you'll end up paying close to that unless you're able to get a T56 for a steal.

I think that in '96, Ford switched to electrical speedo's in mustangs...

Ok, i'll look into the mechanical and electronic speedo's a little more...

As I got an Automatic right now, where can i go to get a set of clutch cables and a pedal? That is all I need right? besides, the t56, crossmember, and driveshaft...

    Thanks,
    Casper
