Well my hood flew up last year on my 89 GT, denting the cowl panel, and the roof. My car has also been in an acident before, and has a crinkled drivers side fender apron, and the front end is off by about 3/8". There is also a crack on the bottom of the front bumper cover, which is rivited together and you can't see it unless you are under the car, but it still bugs me. One last thing is that it needs a new passenger side door molding, as the one on it now is held on with a screw in one section.
There is an 86 4cyl coupe forsale locally, straight as an arrow. The only thing that I don't like about it is that there are small scratches right above the body kit, and someone used a flat green touchup paint, and this car has a dark metalic green paint job. It is listed at 2k, but I am fairly sure I can get it for less.
Either way I go, I would eventually be painting them, so that wouldn't sway me either way. Which would y'all go with? Fixing the car I have now, or get the coupe and transfer the 5.0 parts over. Also, I am building a new engine, and getting a new tranny, because I have torn down the 5.0 for a rebuild, and tranny, well what can I say, it is an auto, and I want a 5spd.
