What is the purpose of the BOO (brake on off) switch? I understand it probably tells the computer if the brakes are on or off but why? Will eliminating it cause any problems?

I am currently trying to retrofit a 95 GT engine, computer, transmission and wiring harness into my 1968 coupe. I am trying to eliminate all unnecessary wires from the harness.

So if its a manual (t5), I don't have cruise, and the car already has a circuit for the lights it can be eliminated, right?

I know that the computer uses it when you are running the codes. So you will always have a brake code come up when you do KOER tests. But I would ditch it, not needed in your case.
