i have a 2000 gt and i changed the plugs today it had the bosch platinums in it and i went to put the autolite 764 copper ones in and the thread is diff on the bosch and the autolites are diff the bosch ones have a longer thred so they would go in the cylinder better and the autolites cant be screwed in as far? now my car seems to run slightly off and isnt as peppy. anyone else had this problem and or know any answers?
There is another plug that is threaded longer that is the new replacement plug. It carried a motorcraftr plug number. If anything the copper plugs should run slightly smoother. I haven't really had good expeirences with bosch plugs in Mustangs.
it seems like it does run smoother and quieter but it dont miss on accel or ping or buck.i just wasnt sure when i seen the thread length iof the auto compared to the boschif it would be good or not but alot on here say the autolite 764 are good and bosch are a no go.
Honestly the Bosch plugs are junk and run horrible on are cars.I strongly recommend Motorcraft or Autolite spark plugs they will work the best from my experiences.
So these would work? http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=ATL&mfrpartnumber=764&parttype=960&ptset=A
