A few months back I bought a used PA 4r70w with a manuel valve body. The 1-2 shift is perfect but 2-3 sucks. It drags really bad at wot. I either have to shift at 4k rpms or get out of it. On normal driving it shifts smooth but wot blows. I'm currently at only 7lbs of boost which is around 500rwhp, nowhere near pushing the limits of the tranny. I know very little on autos as I've never owned one and not sure what the issue could be, valve body or tranny?
