Well, 134 successful transactions and I finally got bit! Paid $90.00 to a seller using Paypal direct draft (yes, I'm and idiot, but now I know). I won an auction on 4/16/04 (item #2479069820) and paid promptly. Wasn't concerned because the guy had over 1400 positive feedbacks, but by the 26th, I got concerned, and started emailing him daily. After no response, and seeing that two others were scammed and had left Negative feedback, I sent my complaint to eBay, Square Deal and the Internet Fraud Complaint Center Just in case any of the members are in the area of El Segundo, CA, don't visit Corvan's Customs. He's a rip off! Here's the information I have been able to dig up on this FRAUD so far: Corey Dunivan corey@coreysclassicmustangs.com tel --: (310) 308-6220 org: Corvan's Customs 359 Concord #2 El Segundo,CA,US 90245 He has the following domains: www.corvans.com www.coreysclassicmustangs.com eBay userid classicmustangparts Just to let you know what kind of loser this guy has become, here's a little note I sent. It makes more sense if you check out his ratings by going to my feedback, or the actual auction and checking out his feedback. Another buyer purchased two items, one on May 5th and one on May 16th. The buyer received one item, but did not receive the second. Buyer left negative feedback and the seller responded citing the tracking number from first purchase, here's my little smart @$$ remark I couldn't resist sending to the seller: Hey Corey, Your recent reply to the feedback left by billybluefox just makes it all the more evident that you are a nimwit that got in over your head with this eBay thing. It's pathetic that you must resort to scamming the eBay populous to make up for your shortcomings. Get your facts straight before you post ANYTHING. billybluefox purchased two things from you: Item: 2476759599 On 5/05/04 Item: 2478154727 On 5/16/04 You shipped the first item, presumably arriving on 5/8/04 under the tracking number you indicate: 0103 8555 7492 3526 9956 In the response to his negative feedback left because you NEVER shipped him the second item, you left the above tracking number. Well, anyone with more common sense than a can opener can figure out that there's no way he received an item on May 8th that he didn't even win until May 16th. Evidently you fit somewhere below a can opener. Best of luck in your eBay endeavors! modifiedmustang Next time, they accept my credit card, or I will take my business somewhere else! Thanks for letting me vent!
That would be great! Even it it's just to verify the address, that way, I know the authorities have a door to knock on. You can email me at gwyers@modifiedmustang.com Thanks!
just file a complaint with paypal after 30 days of auction end and they will force the guy to give your money back. Just include a synopsous of the emails and transactions. I got burned once on ebay, I paid with paypal, direct draft , after 30 days, filed my complaint with paypal, 4 days later, bingo, full refund.
Thanks 65fastback2+2! It sounds easy enough, and I hope I have the same good fortune you do!. I will give that a shot after the 30 day mark...
I tried the same thing with payPal and heard nothing, but I used a credit card. I just reversed the charges on the credit card. I will never do direct draft. Ever.
The one time I bought something over $50 on ebay, I used a different service. I really wish I could remember the name!! They held my money in escrow, so the seller had no danger of me not paying. Once the company had my money, they sent the seller notification. He sent me the item, and I had 5 days to decide whether I would accept the merchandise. Once I gave the go-ahead, the third party sent the seller his money. A really safe and secure set up. I think it cost me $10 or something. Well worth it in my opinion, when you don't know for sure if you're getting what you want. It takes a little longer, but I would do it again.
One of the best ebay scammer stories I've ever read...pretty long but very humorous. http://www.mannequin3d.com/powerbook/
Outstanding man. as far as Ebay is concerend. They sat on their hands for months and never even returned my e-emails. I can't stand that. At least give me the common curtousy to e-mail me back and say f-off.
did you report the fraud to paypal, much of the time they can help if you can ever get ahold of someone that is
Scammer is still ripping people off! I have been contacting bidders to retract their bids, but only a few have done so. The rest must enjoy playing Russian Roulette. Here's what I have done so far: 1. Submitted complaint to IFCCFBF (Internet Fraud Complaint Center of FBI) 2. Submitted complaint to eBay 3. Submitted complaint to Paypal 4. Submitted complaint to Square Deal 5. Posted Here 6. Posted similar post on "other" mustang forum 7. Posted on Frauds own forum (http://bbs.cartserver.com/bbs/q.cgi?s137016) This is a link to the BB from www.coreysclassicmustangs.com 8. Sent emails to all bidders on his items. Items 1 through 4 have resulted in nothing but a bunch of canned/automated email responses. Nothing yet. Here's what I hope to accomplish: 1. Keep others from getting scammed by this fraud 2. Make his life Hell 3. Shut him down on eBay 4. Get my money back! 5. REVENGE! Any ideas????
Submit a criminal complaint and file charges with whatever local LE agencies are applicable where he lives and or works.

Good hunt on the coreysclassicmustang domain. I focused primarily on web registration. As for the ftp server, I would be willing to bet that it is hosted by the ipower hosting service as well. If not, well I doubt it would take long to...how should I put this...'explore' that particular server? If I were a bad man, and I'm not neccesarily denying that I am, I would start mud slinging and say something like 'An FTP Server!? I bet he's hosting his pr0n on it!'
