I bought a 2001 Cobra Coupe with a Bassani catback. I recognize this is a great exhaust but it's way too loud for my taste. What's a relatively quiet aftermarket exhaust (I did a search - Flowmaster was all I came up with) or should I just re-purchase a stock system?

Again, apologies if this has already been covered countless times....

No aftermarket exhaust system is going to be quiet on your 4-valve cobra. I guess just get a catback because if you get a midpipe or headers its going to be loud. If you want a stock system then let me know. I just put on my full exhaust!!!!

FYI....Flowmasters aren't quiet at all...especially if you have an o/r pipe.
Put the stock mufflers back on and keep all your cats to keep it quiet.

BTW - Are you sure that your car doesn't have an off-road X or H pipe on it? It's kind of difficult (even though sound is a subjective matter) to believe that a Bassani catback made for too loud of an exhaust note
Perhaps the car already came with aftermarket headers or an off-road midpipe, in addition to the Bassani catback ?

    Just some food for thought...

kind of a long story, but it apparently had a bassani x (or h??) w/cats. when it subsequently failed CA emmisions, the previous owner switched back to stock and retained the catback. the current setup drones bad in the 1800-2100 rpm range.

I am getting used to it though. Might have been a bit of a transition period from my IS300.....

Does your system have baffles in or out?

That's what I was going to ask. Look into the exhaust tips. If you just see the exhaust tubing, then they're missing. I'd bet they're missing.
