I also am not all that schooled on cams other than just basic info :D
but
I have looked at many, many different OEM block combos
with a NA focus when talking about application

Now ... if that 300 value you used is about rwhp

It is very unlikely you are gonna reach that goal with E7's
and
Cam selection is not gonna make all that much difference

True ... those E7's have been ported
but
It is still gonna be tough to do it

I'm not all that fond of the Cobra intake :notnice:
but
Since it has been ported ... that can make a difference :nice:

Let me finish with this line of thought :D

I'd say its possible to reach 300 rwhp
but
The power band is gonna be quite peaky
and
That is not all that great for a NA Street Car ... IMHO

Please ... Don't think I'm trying to be negative :nono:

I am just trying to be realistic based upon other results I've seen :)

300 at the engine - yes:)

300 at the wheels - no:(

Bill, have you ever thought of a custom cam. They could also tune some exhaust bias for that little shot you have...;)

That cam is a bit bias as well on the exhaust side, typically set for those stock style heads, like what you have. A custom cam, would net you better gains, as I'm sure you know.

Final 5-0 & 5spd GT are correct, I would probably save the extra cash & pick up a set of heads (AFR) and a custom cam you'll see 300+...I am running AFR185 with stock bottom end pistons had to be notched it was a pain in the A$$, E303, & Cobra Intake I made 321 on the dyno. My dyno guy said intake was holding me back about 10-15 HP. Just my 2 cents...saving up for a 331 from CHP

i have the 2031 it pretty much the same but for 1.7 rockers (cause i have a cobra)
but i also have AFR 165.
my suggestion go bigger and if you decide on heads go bigger. lol
its a mild cam, you will notice a difference it will pull hard to 5500 rpm, but nothing to do backflips over.
from what i was told from the guy who suggested the cam was that it was a good cam for nitrous ( not idealy "a nitrous cam") and pretty good for a SC down the road. i would assume it would be the same for the 2030 as for the 2031

there so much out there, if i had to do it again. i would call every cam company's tech line and ask a million questions and ask for suggestions to reach your goal.

good luck
joe

well anyone else? has anyone run this cam cause i think im going to get it....also how would i adjust the factory rocker arms would it be as follows (same as stock)Rotate the crankshaft until the tappet is resting on the heel (base circle) of the camshaft lobe tighten to 25 lbs.

The factory pedastal mount rockers arn't adjustable.

I have factory E7's with 1.96/1.60 valves, with a Steeda 19 (.480 lift) :nice:.
From what I understand, with the factory bottom ened, this is the highest lift
you can go. Someone correct me if I am wrong .

The others are right on that with ported E7's, 300 whp probably won't happen.
But with bigger valves maybe.
