Can anyone shed some light on this?

Occasionally when I'm driving my Mustang, and I accelerate from a full stop, the car will begin to move normally, then the engine will rev up quickly while the car feels like it's in Neutral, and then there'll be a nice jerk and some tire squeal as the car finds its footing.

This happens more if I accelerate hard from a stop.

Trans fluid level is normal, though it is discolored and does need to be changed.

A4LD auto (Yeah yeah I know, pos.. pos...)

And on a related topic... While I love my baby, and would never sell her, solely because she's the first Mustang I've ever owned - What would a nice 5.0 GT Convertible cost me?

I'll be starting a new job on May 17th and who knows, perhaps a new horse will join the stable sometime relatively soon ;)

Sorry but bad news, its time for a rebuild. The internals are crapped out more than likely. You can do that or do a T-5 swap.

Your tranny is fuct, I used to hae an auto nissan that would do that, until it started pissing fluid out like a guy with prostate cancer.

HEY! your in Lakeland! I'm in gainesville, if you decide to do a T-5 swap I got one that needs rebuilt. PM me if you wanna start a project.

Yeah, you're transmission is slipping. Get that POS rebuilt, you better yet, swap in a T5.

If you're looking for some 5.0 verts, check out http://www.autotrader.com/ . I found my stang there.

How long does this tranny have, give or take? I tend to drive my baby hard, but the tranny has yet to complain other than the occasional slippage.

Mine has been doing the same thing (pretty occasionally though, not too often unless it's really cold) for over a year, and mine is still going. I guess it depends on how often it does it.

Hmm... my car kinda of did the same thing when the vacuum line disconnected, but it more so wanted to not disengage from gear... yea... Also, my transmission would jerk from a stop occasionally and it turns out it was the modulator thingy... it leaked while i drove but never really left anything while sitting, so it ran low and was causing it to jerk when it caught some fluid... I dont know if any of this will help, but i figured i would tell you anyways... and remember, jesus loves you...
