can dexitron atf hurt a tranny?

i was in desperate need of atf so i used this stuff caled md3, which it said would work for pre 2000 fords and chevys. i always stick to type f but i was just wondering if it could hurt anything. also quick question: we got alot of rain recently and because of it my car kind of bogs out when i gas it. i used to be able to power brake and just peel the tires but now it just kills the engine when i try to do it.. could it have any relation to the tranny?

Depends on how much Dextron you added. If only a pint or so, it ain't gonna hurt it. Sounds like you need a tune up, I doubt it's the transmission doing anything different. You still running points ?

no i got rid of the points and im usin an accel ignition kit now.. ive heard those things go out but i dont think mine has being its only 2 months old. thanks for the help man
