First of all, does anyone know where I can find piston to valve clearance specs for the 1986 motor? I want to run 1.7rr's in this motor, but not sure if I will have issues with P/V contact. I know you cant change the cam if the motor has flattop pistons, so I'm trying to figur out the max lift I can get with the KB pistons. Any info on these heads is really helpful. I can't seem to find much....:SNSign:

It depends mainly on the cam you are running. With a stock cam and notched K-B pistons you should be plenty safe. Max lift means absolutely nothing here, max lift occurs when the piston is halfway down the cylinder; its the overlap period when both valves are open and the piston is at the top when you will have p/v issues. To check for sure put #1 piston at tdc (firing stroke) and remove both valve springs, and measure how far you can push each valve down until it hits the top of the piston use an air hold set to re-install valve gear.
