Redfire Metallic is a 2 Stage 'Candy' Ford used this year on the 05. However, it is not a true "candy" as the candy tint is actually in the clear itself and not a true application of a transparent type paint over a metallic or opal basecoat. The 2-stage is a metallic base with a tinted clearcoat. This type of "candy" will tend to wear quicker and lose its affect after a few years especially in harsh climates. If you are looking for a Metallic Candy appearance then the Redfire is your closest, although it is not a true "Red". Jenn
Neither. I have a candyapple red 66 convertible (V8 for those who think it can't be a real car if it has a 6 cylinder.) I had a torch red 2003 Mach 1 and I've owned at some point in time all other Ford reds. The candyapple red is much darker. Neither gets my vote.
