CAR STALLING

    WAS DRIVING TODAY AND I HAD A LOST OF POWER. pressed the gas down nothing happened. ( gas is in the car but only about a gallon) car will start up but will stal after about 5 seconds. im thinking is a bad fuel filter any tips?

    How do you know it's about a "gallon" vs. almost empty and not drawing any fuel. I think you should add at least another "gallon" to be sure

    Never run a modern auto with that little fuel. Most cars have in-tank fuel pumps that are partially lubricated by the fuel itself. Plus you would suck up the junk that is at the bottom of the tank- damaging the pump and clogging the filter...

    Spring for some gas, change the fuel filter and never do that again... :D


    Just look at a 5 gallon fuel can sometime... it's not that much.

    More fuel keeps the fuel cooler also... a world of benefits from that.
