I have an 86 Svo that won't idle. I have had it checked out and the guy thought that it was the vane air flow meter. I replaced it, it did not help. i have replaced:

    Vane air flow meter
    Fuel filter
    Throttle position sensor
    Idle air control valve
    New filters

I know that my car is running rich because i can smell it in the exhaust. Could this be part of the problem?
Plus I just got a code scanner but have not had a chance to use it.

    Any ideas?

is there any vacuum leaks? when you say won't idle, you means it would start and die if you don't press on the gas pedal? if it's that, I've got the same problem few weeks ago, and I changed the Fuel pressure regulator, and all the gasket of the intake (except the one between the block and the lower intake..) and now it's ok..
