Changing S197 Fuel Filter

I seem to recall a how to thread about changing out the fuel filters in the S197's, but I cant find it. I know it is more than just an R&R and done. Anyone remember where this thread is?

on my 07 v6 it's right under the driverside door along the frame lip covered by a black piece of platic. make sure you relieve the pressure in the system first, but after that it has a little clip on each side of the filter. i was able to get mine with a screw driver. it was easy and mechanic friendly.

What's the recommended interval on the fuel filter? 50K? With an 05 at 40k I might as well think about it. Never seem to have much luck with the searches, I guess it's the same quick connect fittings standard on other Fords?

I think it's 30k but it says in the owners manual so check that to be sure. I did mine with around 36k and the fuel that came out was clear, other have recommended every 15k but I would guess it depends on the fuel you are running. Mine was a PITA because my car is lowered and the cover had taken some damage from bottoming out.

Thanks for the tips. I'll be doing this if it ever dries up around here. Glad I asked. I would have tried using the fuel line disconnect tool, then gotten upset after I learned you could just push the button.
